Project Worker – Substance Misuse – Taunton, Somerset

Project workers are needed to support substance misuse services in Taunton, Somerset. Your role will be to offer advice and information to service users, proactively meeting their needs and adopting a person-centred approach to turn their lives around.

Responsibilities include:

Assisting the team leader in delivering high quality services in line with the business plan
Providing advice and information to service users, their families and friends and professionals regarding their support
Developing realistic support packages
Managing a caseload of clients
In residential services, ensuring service users take their medication on time assisting them where necessary
Recognising indicators of substance misuse and making appropriate referrals
Providing information and raising awareness about substances, their use and effects

Essential Criteria:

Proven track record of working within the sector of substance misuse
NVQ 3 or equivalent or willingness to work towards
Demonstrable education and/or training in substance misuse
Understanding of the issues faced by service users with mental health and/or dual diagnosis challenges
Track record that demonstrates DANOS compliance
