An Inner City Bristol school are looking to appoint an exceptional teacher of Food Technology to join them from September 2008. This post is full time and initially of a terms length, however there is a possibility of it extending into the Spring Term.
 
The school is an improving Bristol Secondary school that has outstanding facilities and a strong senior management team. The Design Technology department has had notable investment in the last 5 years and results within the school are improving. In a recent Ofsted inspection it was noted that the school “is making good progress in addressing the issues for improvement and in raising the pupils achievement”.
 
The school place great emphasis on effective planning, emphasised in the Ofsted report, and strive to ensure that all lessons are delivered to a consistently high standard. The commitment of the senior management team to continually strive for improvement ensures that standards and expectations remain high.
 
The position will involve teaching Food Technology to pupils at Key Stage 3 and 4. The successful candidate will be required to take responsibility for the planning, preparation and assessment of lessons, ensuring that work is appropriately differentiated to stay relevant to mixed ability groups.
