My client are the no.1 award winning, global leading IP Software Solutions house. They work in cooperation with telecommunication clients to help launch their new and emerging technologies such as IPTV, DTV, VOIP, etc. With year on year growth this decade, this is a dynamic, forward thinking, cutting edge environment.

This particular unit forms part of the OSS Division's Product and Technology department, and has technical responsibility for the delivery of this industry leading product suite. The BDU works together with the division's Business Units to translate market requirements into detailed software design, and delivers to this design through the complete product lifecycle.

An emphasis on high quality design and implementation is underpinned by a structured development process, and is proven through my clients market reputation.

The product architecture uses leading edge technologies, combining a fully Web enabled client to deliver a sophisticated and flexible user interface across an n-tier architecture. Software development is carried out in a J2EE environment, drawing on skillsets that include JSP, Web Services, tag libraries, EJB, XML, LDAP and Oracle.

A Test Architect typically participates in a complete test design and implementation stream, from test plan definition through to the formal acceptance of the resultant software. They will also be involved in auditing the activities of other streams.
Test Architects will work closely with the Test Manager to set the direction and strategy for test activities within the Engineering department.

A Test Architect is expected to lead a test project, which may include additional testing personnel engaged in testing activities, as well as auditing projects led by other Test Analysts.

A Test Architect must have an excellent understanding of the entire product suite.

Skills: 5 plus years software development testing experience gained in a team environment; Experience of project planning, test planning, mentoring, team leading, requirements analysis and test design for test activities; Strong people skills; Ability to plan their own work and to execute to that plan; Experience of test tools, including Quality Centre and Quick Test Professional ideally;
Oracle / SQL ; Knowledge of XML / HTML / J2EE; Experience of testing Java based applications
