Essential skills:-

PHP

MySQL

JavaScript

(X)HTML

Web standards

JavaScript frameworks (ie jQuery)

You should have Software design and testing experience on Business Enterprise Software / Business logic software .

Ideally candidates should show on the CV :

* Example work (URLs / websites they produced / worked on - brief one/ two -sentence explaining what work was carried out by them).

* Example code (PHP) not necessarily on the actual CV but a link or ability to send over to go with the CV... examples of server side coding , database structure etc

An enthusiasm for internet technology and example of work / projects (whether commercial or personal) are essential points. Degrees and the like are not necessarily essential depending on previous work though a nice to have .
