Receptionist Required Urgently

We are currently looking for an experienced receptionist to join the team at an exclusive and luxurious country house hotel near Bath.

Job Description:

Hotel Guests

1. To ensure the efficient daily operation of the Reception area making sure guests’ needs are dealt with as quickly and effectively as possible.
2. Carry out the arrival and departure procedures smoothly in conjunction with the front of house systems. Ensure accurate guest billing
3. Drive the collation of guest profiles within the front of house team and monitor the quality of the input. To ensure guest profiles are updated following guest comments.

Communication

1. Ensure there is communication at all times with Front of House related departments – Concierge, Housekeeping and Host. Ensure that all information is given to the necessary departments at all times.
2. Ensure that you communicate politely and succinctly with the guest in a professional manner whether it be face to face or on the telephone.
People

1. To attend regular meetings with Reception team to ensure they are performing in line with 4 star standards and addressing any areas that need improvement.

Reservations and Reservations System

1. When reservations are closed ensure efficient reservations operation and procedure takes place within Reception.
2. Ensure complete understanding of SMS reservation system.

Sales

1. Maximise sales at all times – upselling is key.
2. Use relevant system to ensure high rooms sales at the best rates.
3. Make sure all details are passed to Sales Team when taking any bookings or contact information.

General

1. Uniform and grooming: clean uniform and personal hygiene, neat appearance, minimum jewellery and discreet cosmetics and perfume.
2. Team conduct: formal approach to work, friendly, courteous and well mannered. An ambassador in and outside of The hotel
3. To be fully conversant with Staff Handbook and HR policies and procedures.

Health and Safety

1. To be aware of and comply with safe working practices as stipulated by current Health and Safety Regulations as applicable to your place of work. This includes awareness of any specific hazards at your work place.
2. To report any defects in the building, plant or equipment according to hotel procedure.
3. To ensure that any accidents to staff, guests or visitors are reported immediately in accordance with correct procedures.
4. To attend 6 monthly Statutory Fire, Health & Safety training and to be fully conversant with and abide by all rules concerning Fire, Health & Safety.
5. To be fully conversant with: COSHH Regulations, Risk Assessments for the Hotel.
