Quantity Surveyor (Nuclear)

We are urgently looking for a number of experienced Quantity Surveyors either on a contract or permanent basis to work at Hinkley Point in Somerset. The roles will see you responsible for Cost Estimating on a variety of project including Solid ILW Management, Wet ILW Management, Ponds Decommissioning, Ponds Skip Decontamination, Sludge Canning and the Ponds Water Treatment Plant Project.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities include:-

· Provide good quality cost estimates for all work packages to be
included within the Life Time Plan.

· Maintain comprehensive basis of estimate documents and
assumption registers.

· Carry out bench marking exercises with other sites/projects

· Assist in the preparation of scheme proposal documents,
providing systematically derived cost information in line with the
clients estimating protocols.

· Work closely with Project Controls in utilising actual cost against
budget data to refine assumptions used for estimating cost of
future works.

Advice on financial implications associated with
emergent/additional works in support of a formal change control
process.

· Participate in regular project risk reviews.

· Provide support to the earned value management process.

To apply you will be a graduate with at least three years experience working as a QS on either civil, mechanical, or engineering projects. Experience in the nuclear industry is preferred but not essential. Hours of work Mon - Thursday, 10 hours per day. Rates and salaries are negotiable depending upon experience.
