The key purpose of the role is to provide the Network Operation Centre with efficient I.S. systems support. The role requires managing and resolving incidents and problems within the IS infrastructure, as well as providing integration support where required.
Duties include:
To provide Systems admin and DBA support for the product set used by the business.
Working in conjunction with the 1st level Incident Support Engineers to resolve incidents:
Fault resolution and service restoration.
Updating Remedy with all actions undertaken
Working in conjunction with the IS Team Leader
Identification and resolution of IS problems within the network.
Assist with continual improvement within Operations
Update all problems with progress, next steps and targeted resolution date on a weekly basis.
Working in conjunction with the Service Transition Manager to provide Project Support:
Assisting in the test environment to establish whether a proposed change meets operational and business requirements
Demonstrating ability to master new skills quickly and a desire for continued career progression.
Providing on-call support where required.
Excellent all-round knowledge of Solaris, Oracle and complex IT infrastructure support is required.
Specialist skills in some or all of the following
Solaris 8/9/10,Weblogic,Apache,Tomcat,Proviso
Veritas Netbackup
Veritas Cluster, Volume Manager and File system.
Netapp
Brocade SAN
Oracle 9i and above
