Hello, my name's Dawn and I want some good folk to be part of my jazz/funk/soul band!

I am a jazz/funk/soul vocalist and basic jazz keyboard/music teacher.

My vocal influences are mainly Erykah Badu, D'angelo, Janis Joplin, Chaka Khan, Etta James, Kurt Elling, Stevie Wonde, Prince, Patti Austin, Patti La belle, Tina Turner, Rachelle Ferrell and The Jones Girls,

My musical influences are as above and Roy Hargrove, Herbie Hancock, Chick Corea, Maceo Parker, Roy Ayers, George Benson, Tower of Power, Miles Davis, Charlie Parker, Sonny Rollins, Ruth Hammond, James Morton, Gary Alesbrook many more!

Wanna come along to mostly regular sunday rehearsals from midday? And you can only come as much as you think you need to:
Looking to play every saturday night, or every other saturday night.

I want to learn one new song of my choice every couple of months and every other couple of months, one new song of yours, if you like, whether this be a cover or your own song, as long as it falls within the jazz/funk/soul genre/s.

If you come along simply for the pleasure of a jam session, that's cool, just let me know. But if you're interested in becoming a band member, let me know too!

Don't worry, I take practise into consideration and this is also time for you to see if you like my voice and for me to hear how you jam to the songs. No pressure, don't feel you have to be commited if you don't like what you hear! and cups of tea all round!
