Torpedo AFC, Bristol Downs League Div 1 Champions 2008 are looking to strengthen our squad for the forthcoming 2008-9 season. Following the success of this season we are looking for new players in all positions, due to the loss of 3-4 players due to travelling/retirement.

We run three teams, currently playing in Div 1, 2 and 3. After winning the Div 2 title in 2006-7, we went on to clinch the Div 1 title in April this year. The Reserves were runners-up in the All Saints Cup this season and the A team finished Runners-up in Div 4.
We’re a competitive bunch, but always look to play the game in the right spirit and enjoy a few beers together in The Port of Call public house at the top of Blackboy Hill after the game.

One of the main benefits of playing in the Downs League is that there is no travelling as all games from the 4 leagues are played on the Downs every Saturday. We train twice a week pre-season on Tuesday & Thursday on the Downs and once a week in season on Weds evenings at Coombe Dingle Sports Complex on Astroturf.
