Calling all Creatives to join Walk screen printing and arts collective Based in Hamilton House
We are looking for creative types who would like to get involved with our collective WALK. Ideally you would want to become part of a artistic community and help set up and run our studio and group projects as well as share any skills in return for our knowledge of silk screen printing, textiles, graphics etc. In return for splitting the costs of the studio and helping run the collective's various projects/workshops you would get unlimited access to the studio for your own needs, and we would also work together on community public art, and business ventures. We would really like to meet like-minded individuals with a passion for the arts, who want to get involved, this advert is to see how many people are out there!
WALK have only just got together and are currently applying to rent out a large space in Hamilton House in Bristol, where we intend to set up a kick-ass silk screen printing workshop (open to setting up other types of printing and arts and crafts). This will hopefully be used for printing garments for our businesses (hand printed illustrative print designs on clothing), run public workshops, rent out to pay-as-you-go printers and run community workshops. We would love to meet up with some like-minded people who would be enthusiastic to join our team and bring some fresh ideas!

Here is a little bit more about us:
WALK is a result of wanting to do more artwork to be seen by the public eye and needing a collaborative name to go by. Although in its early stages, we believe that this could be an ongoing project for ourselves and others to take part in, reaching like-minded under privileged kids, adults and members of the public who have a desire to try new creative processes.
WALK is not exclusive but currently consists of three artists / designers who all have a background in textiles, illustration, and graphic design. Although recently working together more and more, all three individuals are practising artists and are constantly developing their own ideas.
By starting to organise street art projects in and around the local community we have been able to see the response from young and old people alike, the positives and negatives it brings with it, and how it draws the community together. There is clearly a space for an ongoing project of this nature within the Stokes Croft area, since the demand for locally made products and sustainable projects are heavily supported and encouraged.
We have also noticed a severe lack of facilities for this particular field. Therefore we would aim to provide a fully equipped studio available for hire, workshops, private use etc. primarily with Silk Screen Printing in mind.
Our current location is the IN Bristol studio, Barton Hill, where we have a small studio space and use the print room there when available. As well as accessibility being limited we feel we are quickly outgrowing this space and think Hamilton House could provide us with a space that we could tailor to our needs and dedicate to this project, being hugely beneficial.
We are currently designing our website enabling us to reach wider audiences. In the future we will have this set up to promote and sell products made by anyone in our workshops. This is an attempt to bridge the gap between the so called professional artist and the non-artist. We would also hope to sell our products and contribute to the Hamilton House Shop.

We are looking for a small number of people (initially) to become integral members of the group involved as much as the founders. However, we would love to find as many people as possible and get this community off the ground so if you like the sound of WALK, or just want to meet up and have a chat get in contact too!
