Mental Health Support Group Co-ordinators Needed free 12 week training course and support
Want to develop your skills through free training?
Want to get involved with your community?
Changes Bristol runs mutual help and support groups for people experiencing mental distress and we are currently looking for new volunteers to co-ordinate the groups.
Our 12 week training programme starts in September 2009. Having completed the course, you would then work on a rota basis with another co-ordinator to run one of our weekly groups. Groups meet in a variety of locations across Bristol during the day or evening, so you can choose a time that fits in with your schedule.
What we offer you:
· Extensive training
· Supervision and support
· Out of pocket expenses
· The opportunity to develop your skills and build your knowledge
What we need from you:
· Attend all training sessions (weekly)
· Facilitate one of our weekly groups
· Commit to being a volunteer co-ordinator for one year
For more information go to www.changesbristol.org.uk
Please note, this is a volunteer role, however we do offer free comprehensive training and we will cover out of pocket expenses. Becoming a volunteer with us is a great way to develop skills to help transition back into employment, and to get involved with your community. People with a personal experience of mental health issues are encouraged to apply.
Information sessions are happening in the first week of September - call 0117 941 1123 or email phillipa@bristolchanges.org.uk for an information pack. You need to attend an information session before being invited to attend the training.
