I'm planning a trip across the channel this summer. Timing - both when I leave and how long I go for - is as yet undecided but, for me, the longer I'm away for the better and I'll be able to go for up to 3 or maybe 4 months.

I have a few places I'd like to get to and a provisional route through France, into Italy and back through the Alps, but no fixed itinery and I'm open to ideas.
