I have been told by the council that I must fell some dead elm trees in my garden which are alongside a road. I am not sure the number at present but guessing there may be aboiut a dozen. I am told they are between 6 and 12 metres high.

After speaking to a wood turner yesterday he tells me that elms are hard to obtain now and the wood is worth money! He would have loved them but there is a little problem - he and I are in the Highlands! They coiuld be used as firewood by the person in the cottage but that seems a waste if someone can actually use them and would like the wood.

So here's the deal - if you would like them you can have them for nothing but would need to arrange to take them down and collect them yoiurself.
