Network Engineer Cisco
Network - WAN/LAN - CISCO - VOIP - Unified Comms - MS OCS
My client is currently recruiting for a Network Engineer to work in their South West offices. You'll have a good all round knowledge of Cisco hardware, used in a WAN/LAN environment. You must also have a good understanding of VOIP and ideally some Unified Communication exposure.
Key responsibilities:
- Perform administration for end user support, which includes setting up access control lists, configuring switches routers and hubs, analyse and troubleshooting problems, installations, configuration, and performance tuning.
- Install new and repair existing networking equipment, network wiring, fibre optic cables and wireless communication hardware; trouble shoot network infrastructure.
- Analyse client needs and plan network design and equipment in order to correct problems and ensure user needs are met.
- Analyse and program network routers and servers, along with their peripherals.
- Analyse and identify network security issues; recommend and implement security measures and solutions.
- Write specifications for new technology and make recommendations to meet current and future needs.
Key Skills:
- Cisco
- Microsoft OCS (Office Communication Server)
- Good understanding of DHCP and DNS
Desirable Skills:
- CCNA or CCNP qualified
The ideal candidate will be self motivated and proactive in their approach. You'll have excellent interpersonal skills, both written and verbal, as you'll be required to deal with people of all technical levels.
